HUGE news! Beyond ecstatic that our amazing friends at#TheHumaneLeague have worked with United Egg Producers to stop grinding male chicks!!! Most don't know that this is by far the most common practice of getting rid of the "useless" male chicks. Since male chicks are useless in the egg industry, they are ground up alive. BUT, great news is that United Egg Producer, who supply almost 95% of the US eggs will be stopping this practice and will be proceeding most likely with genetic testing BEFORE the egg is even hatched. Not a perfect solution, but a HUGE success in the progress of animal compassion!!
